If your physician recommends neurologic physical or occupational therapy, you will work with a therapist who specializes in the evaluation and treatment of movement problems due to disease or injury of your nervous system. Many of the deficits caused by neurologic conditions such as stroke, Multiple Sclerosis, ALS, Cerebral Palsy, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, cerebellar disorders, muscle atrophy disorders, and Parkinson’s disease can be improved by undergoing physical or occupational therapy. Therapy can also prevent the progression of many chronic progressive disorders. The Duly Health and Care Neurology Therapy team has specialized training to work with you to improve balance, strength, flexibility and tone of your muscles. Gait, transfer and stair training are offered as well as education for adaptive equipment, assistive devices and home modifications. Walk aide device referrals, a device that assists with elevation of your foot in treatment of foot drop, are also available. LSVT BIG treatment (specialized therapy that is design to address unique movement impairments) for the management of Parkinson’s disease at any stage is provided by our LSVT-certified clinicians.
