An Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) is a procedure combining endoscopy and radiological techniques to help your gastroenterologist detect and treat diseases associated with the pancreas, bile ducts, gallbladder and liver. The biliary system includes the gallbladder, bile ducts and bile ducts outside the liver.
Commonly, ERCP is performed when patients have ongoing abdominal pain, are experiencing weight loss or are jaundice and/or when there are suspected gallstones or diseases of the gallbladder, liver or pancreas.
