Dr. Susan Pyatetsky completed her undergraduate studies, medical school training, and residency in Psychiatry at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois. Soon after completing her residency training, she became Board-Certified in Psychiatry. She moved to New Zealand where she worked in Community Mental Health and learned to appreciate the importance of having social support in mental health recovery and of the need for the client to be heard. After working and traveling overseas, she happily returned to her hometown of Chicago to work in Outpatient Psychiatry. Dr. Pyatetsky enjoys working at the Chicago office of the Institute for Personal Development where she focuses on medication management and supportive therapy for older teenagers and adults. She believes that healthcare is a collaborative process and that clients’ preferences and goals are of utmost importance.
Every person must have autonomy and a sense of control over their healthcare. I enjoy listening to and collaborating with clients to tailor their treatment by respecting their preferences.
