I believe it is crit­i­cal to involve not only the patient, but his or her fam­i­ly mem­ber­sas well, to address com­mu­ni­ca­tion dif­fi­cul­ties and chal­lenges due to hear­ing loss. I work close­ly with each of my patients and their fam­i­ly to move towards accep­tance and treat­ment of their hear­ing loss. This allows the patient to become active­ly engaged in social sit­u­a­tions and improve their qual­i­ty of life.
