I am a board-cer­ti­fied pedi­a­tri­cian with over 15 years of expe­ri­ence in out­pa­tient and hos­pi­tal pedi­atrics. When you make an appoint­ment for your child with me, know that you are in safe and kind hands, the hands of a moth­er who also knows med­i­cine well. I am very pas­sion­ate about pedi­atric patient care but strong­ly believe this can­not be accom­plished with­out a trust­ing rela­tion­ship with the parent/​guardian, there­fore I work hard towards build­ing rela­tion­ships based on mutu­al trust and respect with the fam­i­lies I take care of. I like to include par­ents in every step of the deci­sion-mak­ing process and always ask for their input in var­i­ous sce­nar­ios. I love to lis­ten to my patients, they are the best part of my job, not a sin­gle day goes by when they do not make me laugh or smile, I like to address them by their names/​nicknames (I make notes of their pre­ferred names in my notes) and have mem­o­rized thou­sands of names over the years. I like to dis­cuss growth, speech and devel­op­ment at each well-check for the lit­tle ones and like to include dis­cus­sions about screen time, social media and peer influ­ence for the teens.

In my pre­vi­ous prac­tice over 11 years, my rela­tion­ships had got­ten so strong that par­ents would call to update me about impor­tant things or mile­stones like my daugh­ter graduated…let Dr. Mir know or that we went to the ER last night, does the Dr. know? Ask Dr. what does she think about us buy­ing a tram­po­line for the kids this sum­mer. Some­times it’s just for reas­sur­ance that there is some­one there who cares about our child as we do as par­ents. I look for­ward to devel­op­ing the same lev­el of trust with all of you through my new role here with Duly.
