I am a board-certified pediatrician with over 15 years of experience in outpatient and hospital pediatrics. When you make an appointment for your child with me, know that you are in safe and kind hands, the hands of a mother who also knows medicine well. I am very passionate about pediatric patient care but strongly believe this cannot be accomplished without a trusting relationship with the parent/guardian, therefore I work hard towards building relationships based on mutual trust and respect with the families I take care of. I like to include parents in every step of the decision-making process and always ask for their input in various scenarios. I love to listen to my patients, they are the best part of my job, not a single day goes by when they do not make me laugh or smile, I like to address them by their names/nicknames (I make notes of their preferred names in my notes) and have memorized thousands of names over the years. I like to discuss growth, speech and development at each well-check for the little ones and like to include discussions about screen time, social media and peer influence for the teens.
In my previous practice over 11 years, my relationships had gotten so strong that parents would call to update me about important things or milestones like my daughter graduated…let Dr. Mir know or that we went to the ER last night, does the Dr. know? Ask Dr. what does she think about us buying a trampoline for the kids this summer. Sometimes it’s just for reassurance that there is someone there who cares about our child as we do as parents. I look forward to developing the same level of trust with all of you through my new role here with Duly.
