DuPage Medical Group Reaches COVID-19 Milestone Administers 100,000 Vaccines

DOWN­ERS GROVE, Ill. — DuPage Med­ical Group (DMG), the largest inde­pen­dent, mul­ti-spe­cial­ty physi­cian group in Illi­nois, has reached a sig­nif­i­cant mile­stone in the COVID-19 pan­dem­ic, admin­is­ter­ing 100,000 vac­cines to eli­gi­ble patients as part of their, ​“Shots of Hope” campaign. 

The num­ber reflects DMG’s heavy pace of vac­ci­na­tion — 1200 – 1500 per day or about 10K per week, across three sites of care – Lisle, Glen Ellyn and Tin­ley Park, Ill. Since the begin­ning of the pan­dem­ic, DMG has been com­mit­ted to reduc­ing their patients and the community’s risk of expe­ri­enc­ing severe COVID-19 ill­ness, hos­pi­tal­iza­tion and death. In part­ner­ship with the DuPage Coun­ty Health Depart­ment (DCHD), DMG stored the first ship­ments of the Pfiz­er vac­cine for DuPage Coun­ty in addi­tion to invest­ing in tech­ni­cal resources to vac­ci­nate eli­gi­ble indi­vid­u­als dur­ing each phase. As one of sev­en mass vac­ci­na­tion sites in DuPage Coun­ty, DMG has expand­ed their efforts to vac­ci­nate indi­vid­u­als who are not DMG patients, includ­ing every­one ages 12 and up in Illinois. 

“Admin­is­ter­ing more than 100,000 vac­cines into the arms of our patients, neigh­bors and com­mu­ni­ty mem­bers is an extra­or­di­nary accom­plish­ment,” said Dr. Don­ald Hoscheit, DMG Chief Med­ical Offi­cer. ​“This mile­stone is more than just a num­ber – it is a reflec­tion of our asso­ciates and physi­cians’ unwa­ver­ing com­mit­ment to car­ing for the well-being of our com­mu­ni­ty while reduc­ing vac­cine hesitancy.”
