DuPage Medical Group Opens State-of-the-art Outpatient Orthopaedic and Spine Surgical Center to Enhance Patient Experience & Improve Health Outcomes

DOWN­ERS GROVE, Ill. — On Jan­u­ary 11, DuPage Med­ical Group (DMG) — the largest inde­pen­dent, mul­ti-spe­­cial­­ty physi­cian group in Illi­nois — opened a state-of-the-art Ambu­la­to­ry Sur­gi­cal Cen­ter (ASC) ded­i­cat­ed to pro­vid­ing out­pa­tient orthopaedic and spine sur­gi­cal procedures. 

DMG’s mus­cu­loskele­tal pro­gram con­tin­ues to inno­vate in a val­ue-based care envi­ron­ment by offer­ing patients the abil­i­ty to have advanced sur­gi­cal pro­ce­dures in an out­pa­tient set­ting, which can be ben­e­fi­cial in many ways. Not only do patients go home the same day of surgery, but there can also be decreased risk of infec­tion, surgery times can be short­er and recov­ery time is often quick­er for the patient when com­pared to the same sur­gi­cal pro­ce­dure per­formed in a hos­pi­tal setting.

At the West­mont sur­gi­cal cen­ter, out­pa­tient joint replace­ment of the hip, knee, shoul­der and elbow; spine surg­eries such as microdis­cec­to­my, laminec­to­my, ante­ri­or cer­vi­cal dis­cec­to­my and sta­bi­liza­tion (ACDS) pro­ce­dures; and advanced sur­gi­cal pro­ce­dures relat­ed to sports med­i­cine, upper extrem­i­ty and the shoulder/​elbow will be performed.
