DuPage Medical Group acquires M&M Orthopaedics

DOWN­ERS GROVE, Ill. – M&M Orthopaedics, one of the most respect­ed and rec­og­nized orthopaedic prac­tices in the met­ro­pol­i­tan area, has reached an agree­ment to be acquired by DuPage Med­ical Group. The agree­ment is expect­ed to close mid-sum­mer. The prac­tice will oper­ate as M&M Orthopaedics, a mem­ber of DuPage Med­ical Group, until a new name for the com­bined orthopaedic orga­ni­za­tion is announced. Terms of the agree­ment were not made public. 

Patients will con­tin­ue receiv­ing ser­vice at M&M physi­cians’ cur­rent loca­tions. M&M physi­cians also will con­tin­ue prac­tic­ing at all hos­pi­tals they cur­rent­ly serve. 

“Join­ing with DMG allows us to con­tin­ue to meet the logis­ti­cal chal­lenges posed by health care reform,” said M&M man­ag­ing part­ner Dr. Steven Mash. ​“This is good news for our patients, because it ensures M&M’s abil­i­ty to expand our ser­vices, as our com­mit­ment to extra­or­di­nary ser­vice and out­comes will be enhanced by our rela­tion­ship with DMG.” 

DMG is the state’s lead­ing mul­ti-spe­cial­ty group prac­tice with more than 370 pri­ma­ry care and spe­cial­ty physi­cians in more than 50 loca­tions. DMG treats about one third of DuPage County’s pop­u­la­tion with near­ly 1.1 mil­lion vis­its annually.

The acqui­si­tion will expand DMG’s exist­ing orthopaedic divi­sion to include M&M’s spe­cial­ists, as well as addi­tion­al patient care providers and staff. M&M has loca­tions in Down­ers Grove, Naperville, Elmhurst, Auro­ra and Lemont.
