At Duly Health and Care, we strive to bring the best level of cancer care to our community. Through expert staff, leadership, innovation, and quality assessment, our dedication is tangible in everything we do.
In 2022, we were honored to have this dedication rewarded as Duly’s Integrated Oncology Program was accredited for the third time by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (CoC).
The CoC is a collection of professional organizations dedicated to improving survival and quality of life for people with cancer through standards setting, prevention, research, education and the monitoring of comprehensive care.
This accreditation is a testament to our commitment not only to care but to our community. Here’s what it means for us — and for patients and their families.
Duly’s Commitment to Excellent Cancer Care
Over the past decade, Duly’s Integrated Oncology Program has evolved into one of the strongest and highest-quality programs in the area.
During this time, we have marked many important achievements, including the development of our gynecologic cancer care team, the creation of a stereotactic body radiation therapy program, and the expansion of our oncology services into the south suburbs.
Duly’s integrated oncology program provides care for the following types of cancer:
- Breast
- Colon & Rectum
- Digestive System
- Head & Neck
- Hematologic
- Kidney/Ureter/Bladder
- Leukemia/Myeloma
- Lung & Bronchus
- Lymphoma-Hodgkin’s & Non-Hodgkin’s
- Male-Female Genital System
- Melanoma
- Miscellaneous
- Pancreatic, Liver, Biliary (HPB)
- Prostate
- Skin
- Thyroid
In October 2022, Duly’s Integrated Oncology Program received its third Commission on Cancer (CoC) accreditation status, distinguishing the program as one of the best for cancer treatment. Also accredited in 2015 and 2018, Duly continues to deliver the pinnacle of quality cancer care services.
To earn this accreditation status, Duly’s Oncology Program met standards in 34 different areas. We received noted strengths on five standards, including all operative standard measures and palliative care services. Accredited facilities must also create a cancer registry to track and analyze trends — and this data is then added to the CoC’s larger registry.
Patient-centered care means that patients and their families are active participants in their health and treatment. Learn more about the Integrated Oncology Program and how our patients are at the heart of everything we do.
The Duly Cancer Care Difference
This reaccreditation signifies Duly’s unwavering dedication to our cancer care service line. At Duly, you and your family have access to quality care teams that are dedicated to providing the highest quality care and have the latest resources and tools to provide next-level treatment to those who need it.
Our care team provides coordinated care and can support you throughout your entire cancer journey. From oncologists and pathologists to radiologists and rehabilitation therapists, your whole team works together under one umbrella to provide you with the best care. This also makes getting a second opinion easier than ever, as our providers work as a team to understand and treat your cancer.
In addition to those individuals providing care directly, Duly is also supported by a range of other professionals who make your care — and our recent reaccreditation — possible. One of these incredible resources is our nurse navigators.
Nurse navigators act as a bridge between patients and their medical teams, assisting with everything from scheduling to education. The world of cancer can be a confusing one and can leave you with more questions than answers. Nurse navigators are a key part of the expert care we provide, and they are a key element of our patient-centered experience.
Our Continued Dedication to the Duly Community
Not only does this accreditation speak to our incredible team but also the range of services and treatment we are able to provide our community. Cancer care is ever-changing and developing, with new treatments available every day.
We are committed to cancer prevention, as well as providing the best quality of care — especially as care and treatments get better and better. From participating in clinical trials to receiving cutting-edge treatment opportunities, individuals receiving care at Duly have the best oncology resources right at their fingertips — and right in their own neighborhood.
