It is important to have annual examinations of your retinas to make sure that no damage is occurring to the small blood vessels in the eye. If we can catch the changes early, there are many non-invasive and invasive treatments that can be done in the office to stop the damage.
In many instances, with some of the newly approved medications for diabetic retinopathy we can even bring back vision that has been lost.
